Elisabeth practices labour, administrative and human rights law on behalf of public and private sector unions. She is called the bar in both British Columbia and the Yukon.
Prior to joining Black Burke Mayor in 2020, she worked in-house for 8 years at several large, public sector unions in British Columbia. While working in-house, she represented the Union at arbitrations, resolved grievances, assisted in collective bargaining, negotiated essential service levels, facilitated union member education workshops, and provided advice and assistance to local stewards. This practical experience informs her law practice, which focuses on concrete solutions to workplace issues.
Elisabeth also has experience in workers' compensation law and aboriginal law.
She has acted for union clients in labour arbitrations, before provincial, federal and territorial administrative tribunals, and appeared before the BC Provincial Court, the BC Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Yukon and the Federal Court of Appeal.
In her free time, Elisabeth enjoys backcountry camping, cooking and spending time with her family.
