Rana Hazarat
Rana joined Black Burke Mayor following her work in the public sector and with several non-profit organizations.
Rana earned her J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law, and she served as Program Coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada. Before law school, Rana studied Political Science and Economics at the University of British Columbia and competed on the UBC Varsity Track & Field Team.
She recently obtained her LL.M. at Columbia University in New York, where she received multiple awards recognizing her work in the field of human rights. Rana has led numerous initiatives focused on human rights issues in Afghanistan and is internationally recognized for her advocacy, particularly in relation to women, and ethnic and religious minorities.
